APPRENTICESHIP & SKILLED TRADES
If you're a youth interested in becoming a youth apprentice, or simply want to learn more about the skilled trades in Nova Scotia, you're in the right place.
Currently there are 61 skilled trades that are designated under the Apprenticeship and Trades Qualifications Act. We've divided these trades into four categories:
• Construction (working with: buildings, cabinets, floors, etc.)
• Motive (working with: cars, buses, trucks, heavy duty equipment, boats, etc.)
• Industrial/mechanical (working with: alarms, machines, appliances, metal, etc.)
• Service (working with: hair or food)
You'll notice that these designated trades require a wide range of investigative, artistic, computer, technical and mechanical skills - which means there's a great chance that something will match your own unique interests and talents.
