HEALTH, SAFETY AND EMPLOYEE RIGHTS
Safety concerns should always be considered when pursuing a job in today's labour market, especially when your students are new to a particular work environment. According to the Association of Workers' Compensation Boards of Canada, almost 51,000 workers under the age of 24 lost time from work after being injured on the job in 2006.
If your students are exploring a skilled trade or are youth apprentices, you should help them become fully aware of their rights in the workplace, and learn how to protect them from injury. Use the links below as a starting point.
